Full Itinerary
Arrive Arusha
Airport pickup and transfer to lodge. Gear check and full climb briefing at our Arusha office with your lead guide. Overnight at a comfortable Arusha hotel.
Lemosho Gate → Big Tree Camp
Drive to Lemosho Gate (2,100m) through coffee and banana farms. Trek through lush rainforest to Big Tree Camp (2,780m). 3-4 hours. Colobus monkeys are common.
Big Tree Camp → Shira 1 Camp
Emerging from the forest onto the heath zone. Views of Kibo Peak open up across the Shira Plateau. Trek to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m). 5-6 hours.
Shira 1 Camp → Shira 2 Camp
Acclimatization day on the Shira Plateau. Short hike to assess altitude readiness, then settle at Shira 2 Camp (3,850m). Exceptional views of Mt. Meru and the crater rim.
Shira 2 Camp → Barranco Camp
Cross the high alpine desert toward Lava Tower (4,630m) — the critical acclimatization point. Descend to the iconic Barranco Wall base at Barranco Camp (3,960m). 7-8 hours.
Barranco → Karanga Camp
Scale the famous Barranco Wall — a thrilling scramble with sweeping views. Then traverse the Karanga Valley to Karanga Camp (4,035m). 4-5 hours.
Karanga → Barafu Camp
Steady climb to Barafu Base Camp (4,673m). Rest, hydrate, and sleep by 7pm in preparation for summit night. Continental highest camp. 3-4 hours.
Summit Night → Mweka Camp
Depart at midnight. Reach Stella Point (5,739m) at first light, then push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — Africa's roof. Descend via the Mweka Route to Mweka Camp (3,100m). 12-16 hours total.
Mweka Gate → Arusha (Rest Day)
Short morning descent to Mweka Gate. Hot shower and real bed at your Arusha lodge. Celebratory dinner with your climbing team — they earned it as much as you did.
Safari: Serengeti National Park
Early morning drive to the Serengeti. Game drive en route to your camp. The endless plains deliver lions, elephants, giraffes, and if lucky, cheetahs on the hunt. Full day in the Serengeti.
Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Depart
Morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading to Ngorongoro. Descend into the crater at dusk — black rhino, lions, hippos, and flamingos all in one afternoon. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport.
